Pink Construction worked with Lifestyle Architects to build this centre in Mt Albert. We used a combination of weatherboard and cedar cladding which all complement each other with their earthy tones.
When you walk into the centre you get a feeling of space with the 2 level void which lets ample light into all spaces. The interior is quite neutral but has been brought to life with the coloured light fittings, carpets and children's toys.
The centre is separated into 3 spaces allowing for smaller groups of children throughout the centre for better learning outcomes. These spaces share toilet facilities, resource space & a large kitchen with servery. All lead outside to a lovely covered deck area via large sliding doors. Hi-lite windows in the play areas also provide for extensive natural light and ventilation which will keep the building healthier and cheaper to run during summer and winter.
This is a good example of a modern learning environment for today's children and anyone considering building a new centre should aspire to.
